To meet the growing need for authentic and verifiable streaming content, this project tackled the challenge of applying the new C2PA standard to a live video workflow — a space with no prior references or applications. The team developed a live solution to sign, embed, and validate metadata on the fly, enabling large-scale adoption of tamper-safe live video.

"Congrats to Qualabs for emerging as CMCD experts and core contributors. Your commitment to the open-source community, especially through your Summer Camps, is commendable and appreciated globally. By bringing ideas to life, you’ve improved QoE for end-users, effectively translating engineering concepts into smiles on people's faces. Well done Qualabs!"
Qualabs collaborated with Alex Giladi to showcase DASH overlays at Demuxed 2025, demonstrating real-time client-side overlays for video streaming. Using MPEG-DASH's event messaging, the solution enables dynamic overlays without server-side processing. Contributions to Shaka Player and dash.js helped expand its adoption, enhancing user experience, accessibility, and monetization.
A leading streaming platform approached our team with a time-sensitive project: integrating the LCEVC standard into their streaming engine. The objective was to showcase improved transcoding capabilities, using LCEVC to optimize video compression efficiency.

How can live streaming platforms achieve both personalization and playback performance when it comes to ad insertion? At Mile High Video 2025, Qualabs and Wowza tackled this challenge head-on, combining real-time signaling, HLS metadata, and VAST-driven logic to demonstrate how Server-Guided Ad Insertion (SGAI) can be implemented efficiently at scale.
Our team developing an OBS plugin that supports hardware encoding using the AMD Alveo MA35D card. The goal was for the AMD team to present a demo at one of the biggest events in the video industry, the NAB Show, showcasing advanced encoding capabilities in formats like AVC/H264, HEVC/H265, and AV1, especially in high-demand scenarios such as gaming and live events.
Develop an easy-to-use CMCD validation library that provides accurate results. The goal was to provide a tool that would simplify the adoption of the CMCD standard for video developers, allowing them to validate CMCD parameters efficiently and reliably.
The Common Media Library (CML) transforms video software development by unifying metadata handling across platforms. This open-source project, born at MonteVIDEO Tech Summer Camp 2024, simplifies workflows, reduces redundancies, and promotes industry standardization. Adopted by leading players like hls.js and dash.js, it showcases the power of open collaboration. Explore the impact on GitHub.
